Moscow’s first gay pride parade was held in May 2006, thirteen years after homosexuality was decriminalized in Russia. It was supposed to be a joyous occasion, the beginning of a new era of openness for the LGBT community. It didn’t quite work out that way. LGBT marchers that day clashed with riot police, who tried to stop the event. “We disturbed something very deeply rooted in Russian society, some very evil power of intolerance and violence,” says Nikolai Baev, a prominent LGBT rights activist who attended the march. Only a few months later, Russia saw its first regional anti-gay law passed in Ryazan, 200 miles east of Moscow. It was the first official sign that the Russian authorities would resist the LGBT movement—a resistance that has grown and become increasingly violent as LGBT act...

Rogue FSB agents caught planting explosives into a basement of an apartment building in town of Ryazan, 100 km outside Moscow. Material tested as 'hexagen' by the police. Officials later try to claim there were no real explosives and that it was only an exercise. - - Take care Tony, that man has blood on his hands Evidence shows secret police were behind 'terrorist' bomb By John Sweeney,The Observer March 12, 2000 http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2000/mar/12/chechnya.johnsweeney The photograph below of a detonator pre-set to explode a bomb calls into question Russian leader Vladimir Putin's line - endorsed by Tony Blair during his visit to Russia yesterday - that Chechen terrorists were responsible for the explosions that killed more than 200 Russians last year. Two bombs went off in Moscow, but a third bomb planted in Ryazan, 100 miles south, was defused by bomb squad officer Yuri Tkachenko who said: 'It was a live bomb.' It was made of the same explosive, Hexagen, and planted in a similar target - a working-class block of flats. The third bomb did not go off because the bombers were caught red-handed. They were Russian, not Chechen, and when they were arrested by local police they flashed identity cards from the FSB - the new styling for the KGB, the secret police Putin headed before he became Russia's acting President. Two days later the FSB announced that the third bomb had only been 'a training exercise'. The Kremlin's evidence that Chechen terrorists bombed Moscow is extremely thin. After the bomb outrages, secret police in the FSB handed out Photofit pictures of unnamed Chechens. No suspects were arrested and no convincing explanation was given to the public. The third bomb was found in the basement of the flats on the night of 22 September at around 9pm. Tkachenko said: 'It was a live bomb. I was in a combat situation.' He tested the three sugar sacks in the basement with his MO-2 portable gas analyser, and got a positive reading for Hexagen, the explosive used in the Moscow bombs. The timer of the detonator was set for 5.30am, which would have killed many of the 250 tenants of the 13-storey block of flats. The sacks were taken out of the basement at around 1.30 am and driven away by the FSB. But the secret police forgot to take away the detonator, which was left in the hands of the bomb squad. They photographed it the next day. ... - - History Commons www-page with many links to news articles about the case: Context of 'September 22-24, 1999: FSB Agents Plant Large Bomb in Ryazan: 'Security Exercise' or Terror Plot?' http://www.historycommons.org/context.jsp?item=a092299ryazanbomb#a092299ryazanbomb - - - - Elitist-criminal element within the structures of western governments, also called "deep state" or "shadow government", manipulated European politics by manipulating both left- and right wing radical groups to start political street wars and terror campaigns to steer western nations according to their agenda.. Vladimir Putin was born on October 7, 1952 in Leningrad. “I come from an ordinary family, and this is how I lived for a long time, nearly my whole life. I lived as an average, normal person and I have always maintained that connection,” Mr Putin recalls. ladimir Putin’s mother, Maria Shelomova, was a very kind, benevolent person. “We lived simply - cabbage soup, cutlets, pancakes, but on Sundays and holidays my Mom would bake very delicious stuffed buns [pirozhki] with cabbage, meat and rice, and curd tarts [vatrushki],” Mr Putin says. His mother did not approve of his decision to do judo. “Every time I went to a practice session, she would grumble, ‘He’s off to his fights again.’” Things changed after Vladimir Putin’s coach visited his home and told his parents about what he did and what he achieved; the family’s attitude toward this sport changed. His father, Vladimir Putin, participated in the war. In the 1950s, he worked as a security guard and later as a foreman at the carriage works. “My father was born in St Petersburg in 1911. When World War I began, life in St Petersburg became hard, people were starving, so the entire family moved to Pominovo, a village in the Tver Region my grandmother came from. Incidentally, my relatives still vacation in the house where my grandparents lived. It was in Pominovo that my father met my mother, and they got married at the age of 17.” After the war, the Putin family moved into a room in a communal apartment [kommunalka], in a typical St Petersburg dwelling house on Baskov Lane. Vladimir Putin recalls, “It was a building with a well-like yard. Fifth floor. No elevator. Before the war [World War II], my parents occupied half of the house in Peterhof and were very proud of the living standards they had achieved then. It wasn’t really much, but it seemed like an ultimate dream to them.” School years A troublemaker, not a Pioneer Even before he finished school, Vladimir Putin wanted to work in intelligence. He went to a public reception office of the KGB Directorate to find out how to become an intelligence officer. There, he was told that first, he would have to either serve in the army or complete college, preferably with a degree in law. “And from that moment, I began preparing myself to enter the law department at Leningrad State University,” Mr Putin notes. In 1970, Vladimir Putin was admitted to law department at Leningrad State University. “We had a class of 100 people, and only 10 of them entered immediately after high school, the rest had already completed military service. So for us, the high-school graduates, only one out of 40 was admitted. I got four out of five for the essay, but top marks for everything else, so I passed.” “When I began studying at the university, new goals and new values emerged. I mainly focused on studies, and began seeing sports as secondary. But, of course, I trained on a regular basis and participated in nation-wide competitions, almost out of habit.” After graduating from Leningrad State University, Putin was assigned to work in the state security agencies. “My perception of the KGB was based on the idealistic stories I heard about intelligence.” He was first appointed to the Directorate secretariat, then the counterintelligence division, where he worked for about five months. Half a year later, he was sent to operations personnel retraining courses. Mr Putin spent another six months working in the counterintelligence division. That was when he drew attention from foreign intelligence officers. “Fairly quickly, I left for special training in Moscow, where I spent a year. Then I returned again to Leningrad, worked there in the First Main Directorate – the intelligence service. That directorate had branches in major cities of the Soviet Union, including Leningrad. I worked there for about four and a half years.” Then Mr Putin returned again to Moscow to study at the Andropov Red Banner Institute, where he was trained for his trip to Germany. In 1960-1968, Vladimir Putin attended Primary School No. 193 in Leningrad. After the eighth grade, he entered High School No. 281, a chemistry-focused magnet school under the aegis of a technology institute, completing his studies there in 1970. * Subscribe for more Scientific & Technological Videos * Like & Share * go to our website http://www.advexon.com * Share your ideas and comment

The 89-year-old worked in the air medical services for 30 years, when she treated patients living in the Russian wilderness. She has now returned to Ryazan where she grew up and studied, and her appetite and drive has not wavered. 'Being a doctor isn't just a profession but a lifestyle,' she told Lite FM when asked why she hasn't retired. 'If I stopped working, who is going to perform the surgeries?' The tenacious pensioner has steady hands despite her age, and regularly has to deal with invalids who feel uneasy with her treating them. The 89-year-old, who never married and has no children, lives in a studio apartment with her eight rescue cats. One patient called Irina told Lite FM: 'At first I felt I couldn't trust a surgeon who is so old, but after she palpitated me with her firm fingers - all doubts gone.' Alla refers to herself as the 'racing horse', because she is immediately filled with energy when she enters the operation theatre. In honour of her loyalty to the profession, Alla was recently awarded the prize for the best doctor in Russia. When not at work she helps to care for her disabled nephew. She will turn 90 on May 5. I mean, the Internet is perfect for this type of business because of the anonymity that the Internet offers, but it's definitely a growth industry." Washington DC - File 17. Shots of Blue Orchid website 18. Customs agent going through box of tapes STORYLINE: xfa Law enforcement officials in the United States and Russia have shut down a Russian Web site that sold videotapes worldwide depicting children performing sexual acts. Many of the tapes, costing 200 to 300 U-S dollars, were shipped to the United States. Operation Blue Orchid, named after the website, resulted in five arrests in Russia and four in the U-S, with 15 more having been issued warrants. The investigation started last May, when Moscow police asked U-S customs officials for help. After customs conducted an undercover purchase of a child pornography videotape from the Blue Orchid website, Moscow police were led to Vsevolod Solntsev-Elbe, one of the alleged operators of the site. Russian police detained Elbe and a 13-year-old boy, whom police say Elbe transported to Moscow for the purpose of sexual exploitation. Authorities also seized 400 videotapes, video duplication equipment and sales and shipping records from Elbe's apartment. As a result of the apartment search, U-S customs officials were able to identify people who allegedly ordered child pornography from the Blue Orchid website. U-S Customs officials estimate that 100-thousand websites worldwide are involved in some way with child pornography, and they say the incidence of the crime has grown with the popularity of the Internet. It was the first official sign that the Russian authorities would resist the LGBT movement—a resistance that has grown and become increasingly violent as LGBT activism has grown over the last decade. ►Circle us on Google + http://goo.gl/TXeBfX ►Subscribe Channel http://goo.gl/mqt0wI ►Don't forget to Like * Comment * Share this video. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stay tuned, Stay connected

Alibaba subsidiary AliExpress is one of the most popular online shopping platforms in Russia, with an estimated 15.5 million customers each month. Online purchases on the platform represent a significant chunk of the local e-commerce market. However, a new Russian law could limit the growth of AliExpress as Moscow seeks to support domestic online retailers.
